The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Hola chicos...

Yo usualmente soy muy calmada, y ustedes los saben, soy muy buena persona, pero hoy he visto que muchas personas toman mi arte descaradamente y lo ponen en sitios como facebook (que roban los derechos de las imágenes), hacen videos en youtube con mis comics, abren blogs y se acreditan la autoría de las imágenes.... y sin mencionar a los que hacen recolors

Les digo algo... ya lo saben: A mi nadie me paga por subir comics a DA, yo no vivo de esto.

Yo trabajo y esfuerzo mucho mi imaginación para darles historias que les lleguen al corazón, les hagan reír y llorar... y yo creo que por eso les gusta venir a mi galería, para leer cosas posibles, imposibles... REALES.

Estoy pensando muy seriamente en poner marcas de agua a todo o que suba.... yo sé que es molesto leer así... pero me enoja y duele que gente se acredite lo que yo hago con tanto esfuerzo... y tan rápido... o quién más les da entretenimiento cómo el mío todos los días?

Si esto sigue así... creo que no subiré mas comics en un tiempo... tal vez sea mi humor hoy... pero me estoy cansando.

Hoy no habrá nada que ver, sólo este journal.

Hi guys ...

I'm usually very calm, you know that, I'm very good person, but today I saw that many people blatantly take my art and put it in sites like facebook (who steal the rights of the images), make videos on youtube with my comics, open blogs and accredited the authorship of the images .... not to mention those who do recolors

I tell you something ... already know it: Nobody pays me to post comics to DA, I don't live of this.

I work very hard and use my imagination to give them stories that reach the heart, make people laugh and cry ... and I think that's why you like coming to my gallery, reading things possible, impossible ... REAL.

I'm thinking very seriously about putting watermarks to all that I upload .... I know it's annoying to read... but I'm angry and hurt that people are steal what I do with so much effort ... and so fast ... Or who else gives a entertainment, how to mine, every day?

If this keeps up ... I think it will not submit more comics in a one time ... may be my mood today ... but I'm getting tired.

Today here is nothing to see, only this journal.

Oh Canas I know what you mean and HOW feel as well

One day I'm going to do one thing in my drawings or even at the comments of the art...it can be little exagerated but it's for my art protection ..this trick may take a while

(If you want you can do the same)

...I can't see other way to protect our art..I will do a new Signature...or a logo with some extra words such as ..."your not alowed to use/copy/recolor this art"(with smaller words) that I might Use for now on.

My art is like almost everywhere..I even don't know where the half of them go

Try to warn them what they can't do -.- sometimes it's just little kids that does this kind of stuff they can possibly have 11years around or less...this generation I believe they can do almost everything at computer hehehe giggle: My niece is 6 and she goes to the game in net by herself

But one thing is true we have guardians even me...they inform me about my art and I try to get help...sometimes is not a success mission...but who uses our art can have a bad reputation because of that anyway so...

I don't like my friends and artists here in DA get's into that mood ..this is always happening even we want to stop it -.-

It's like a infinity to finish these credit stealers...
but we as artists we will not give in because we can think and have brains to prevent that kind of stuff ..theres no quiters in my dicionary sorry
